Adonai, Adonai ... First of the 13 Qualities Or- Light CreativeEnergy Keli- Vessel Focusing Crystal (See pgs. 21-22 for a more lengthy discussion of the concept of Or and Keli.) 1. The "Infinite" Light retains its "any dimensionis-possible" quality, traceable to its original source, even as it enlivens us in our n1agnitude of limitations. 2. The "vessels" are the means whereby everything becomes or appears finite. A blue filter can make light appear blue while a yellow filter makes the same clear light appear yellow. The same electricity flows through a stove making it hot and through the refrigerator, making it cold. Similarly, the Infinite Light is seen as multiply-potential and its "Vessel" as focusing and limiting, allowing for only one of the possibilities to be actualized at a time. 3. Where did the vessel come from? Somehow a strand (ray? holographic snippet? vibration?) of the Infinite Light becomes a finite "Vessel" containing, again, the Infinite Light. Examples of this type of split: a part of the embryo becomes the eggshell, a part of the molten lava flow becomes a hard outer shell, an outer skeleton for the lava, a part of the caterpillar becomes the cocoon which protects the butterfly-to-be. The gymnast and the musician each "become" their craft. Our activities channel our energy, and our bodies and nervous systems "become" the structure which will contain and channel all the energies which come afterwards, until the plastic structure is again changed, which can happen at any time, or continue as it is for ninety or so years. 4. Why is the Yod Hay Vav Hay repeated twice? This indicates two levels of Yod Hay Vav Hay. The first is the light which manifests a containing structure for itself. The second is the created keli which is the crystallized form that the light has chosen to n,anifest through. Usually, that is, for most of the year, we are aware only of the lower Yod Hay Vav Hay. But during the ten days of Teshuvah, the higher Yod Hay Vov Hay is present. This makes available a deeper, more awesome experience than usual. As the higher Yod Hay Vav Hay changes the shape of its vehicle, the lower Yod Hay Vav Hay, during this rich time, our very ability to reconceive God undergoes change. 5. This reconditioning of the underlying structure of our world is discussed in Kabbala as a "rebuilding" that takes place during these ten days. The shape of the filter-crystal of the divine light, symbolized as Malkhut, is reformulated with the aid of the creative energy of the thirteen qualities of mercy, the first of which is Adonai, Adonai, Yod Hay Vav Hay, Yod Hay Vav Hay. 6. Likewise, during these ten days, ec1chof us is in possession of a second, more creative part of our souls. Just as Abraham was C8lled Abraham, Abraham and Moses vvc1scalled Moses, Moses, as seen by the higher level of Yod Hay Vav Hay, so is each of us reconnected with our twofold name, a creative, powerful energy which enables us to restructure our awareness of God and of ourselves. 7. lt is the withdrawal of the Divine energy, during these ten days, to its more creative aspect that enables us to break through old patterns; and it is our breaking through of old patterns that sets the stage for a better rebuilding of the cryst81, a k'tiva (inscribing) and k ha ti ma (sealing in) of the new crystal structure/Divine vehicle for the conveyance of transformative energy during the coming revolution of the earth around the sun.
