Differences Between Simkha and Tov SimkhaPoretzGeder True Joy Smashes Boundaries is the experience of the light dwelling at peace within healthy boundaries. Old habits rigidify the personality and squeeze all the light out of one's life. Simkha describes a feeling of release and relief associated with bursting through crystallized patterns. This smashing brings hope for the creating of more appropriate boundaries to channel and support us, not to limit and cramp us. Vessels and channels are needed to contain and structure our limitless possibilities. Without such kelim (vessels and channels), our good energy rapidly dissipates. Tov is the feeling of being well-contained, of thriving within appropriate structures. Too much Simchais like too much wine, raising one up high in excitement and then leaving one in the gutter with a headache. This is not Tov. Tov is living life while improving the state of such dwelling. Ma Tovu Ohalekha Ya'akov, Mish'k'notekha, Yisrael. How Good are your Tents ~nd . Your DwelhngPlaces.
