Hassidic Devekut Contem 1. The Mirror: Becoming Aware of Being Loved Like a face is reflected in a calm surface of water is the heart's reaction to another heart's sensation. This is the nature of the heart, to reflect. When generosity is shown, gratitude results, and so, the opposite. If someone in the dumps receives a rescue visitation from the mayor, the head of the country, how would they react to that person? How would an oppressed person react to a rescue by a prominent person? Our situation vis-a-vis daily mitzrayim is exactly that, only more so. 2. Conscious Presence: Becoming Aware of Non-Judgemental loving Presence The conscious Presence of the Infinite is most intense everywhere, and is no less conscious than if a human person is with you constantly encouraging, praying for you and cheerleading, non-judgementally appreciating you with infinite patience and enjoyment of the play of your consciousness. Cultivating the sense of positive presence is an ongoing meditation of opening and welcoming and listening. 3. Energy Identity: Becoming Aware of Empty Channeling of Elohut Flow Every jot and tittle of creation is alive with coursing energy from the source of all. We are no more solid than is the light of an electric bulb, instantly reactive to the switch controlling the current. The current is Elohut, Godly energy which is described as electrons, protons, and subatomic particles/waves and also as the shapes and values of Hebrew letters, the names of each thing. Our substance is no more solid than a wind blowing on a wave. lations you through the realm of gehinnom where newly passaged souls are learning to forget the traumas and addictions of this world, to the world of the nether angels, harmonizing in song and light shows as the daily time-periods alternate and energy patterns rise and fall, in harmony with their song and movements. Passing through the river of fire, we enter a world of B'ria, of subtle rapid-firing streams of light, fragmenting and coming together like a reverberating gong or strobe light whose patterns create the song and light of the next world, and ultimately the patterns in our universe. Rising through the final curtain, we enter the world of Atzilut, of emanated powers whose identity is zero and see themselves as the sun rather than the sunlight. This is a place of no anxiety and total nourishment, watched by below and rich in abundance and completeness. And then we pass down through the worlds again, appreciating each in turn. This is the flow of the davvenen. 5. Apprehending: Becoming Aware of Unity Experience Within Mind The moment of learning something is the opening/ grasping, within/without moment in which total unity of experience is present. This is a form of connectedness to the Torah, the keys of the universe which nourish the soul. 6. Like A Candlelight In The Sun: Becoming Aware Of Existence As Non-Existence God's self-contraction, the Tzimtzum, was such only to the naked eye, but right here in this space is the whole infinite energy available constantly, at all times, blazing as ever and tranquil as eternity. Our separate existence and alienation from things and others is as substantial, disruptive and 4. Flight through the worlds: Becoming remarkable as the light of a candle within the A ware of Verticality of Consciousness nuclear explosions in the center of the sun.
