It is intended as an aid and adjunct to the traditional Siddur; to spark the reader's abilily to be creative with prayer; and to deepen the appreciation of the possibilities inherent in the Siddur. A'1ew, in Aramaic, means "to reach towards". This cotlection of teachings, arranged loosely according to the four worlds of the Siddur (Jewish prayerbook.), is intended as a "re~ching" towards a more evolved Siddur. The next evolution of the Siddur will go wdl beyond the nineteenth century translations-interpretations found commonly in the Siddur. Retranslating and re-interpreting the Stddur in our own time continues the ancient process of integrating inherited tradition with modern experiences and needs.
