Meta-Siddur Packet #4.8 Here are a few notes on the current Meta-Subscription Packet. 5/22/96 Suggestion: When you receive this packet you may wish to staple it and study it for a few days. If any teaching seems especially vital, magnetize a reduced photocopy onto your fridge door. After you feel you have dealt with these teachings as much as seems appropriate, de-staple them and insert them into your Meta-Siddur. Then, read a few pages before and after each teaching until you understand why the teaching is placed in this spot. Page 86.8 Modah Ani. This prayer always struck me as being so condensed, alluding to so much in so few words. This is my paraphrasing of what I think is going on underneath the surface words of the prayer. In the Page 86.9 Korbanot, Temple Offerings. Siddur you may find this as a combination of a Yehi Ratzon and Abaya Hava Mesader. I was trying to suggest that in the Temple Offerings, besides the gory butchery part, there was a lot of beautiful ritual fit even for vegetarians. Page 86.91 Ketoret, spices. This is an attempt to bring teachings into a narrative. The teachings are from the Meta-Parshiot. Traditional Davvenen Warmups /Alternatives. Davvenen is more than reciting words. At least in the warmups, and really, also interlaced in the prayers, are rituals and practices. Page 108.3-4 Metaphors of Complexity. These teachings imitate and highlight the strange appearance of god's name in the Kabbalistic siddur, reproduced on page 108.2 from page 109. Page 148.91 Ah-h-h the hieroglyphic shapes of the Hebrew letters are such good screens on which to project meanings. Page 148.07-91 Let me know what you think of this Meta-translation/Commentary. I can back up most of my translation/commentaries from purposely ambiguous puns in the Hebrew, as developed by Hassidic thought. Though, not absolutely everything. I leave it to you to guess which is authentic meta-translation and which is added meta-translation. These pages were also affected by the coming publication (im yirtza Hashem of the Meta-Siddur and my effort to get more Siddur like pages in here. 158.9 A delayed Purim Torah. Purim is so hard, these years! If you can, please show your Meta-Subscription and Meta-Parshiot around to those who might be interested! Zai Gezunt!
