Meta-Siddur Subscription Service Here are a few notes on the current (4.6) Meta-Subscription Packet. 9/18/95 Suggestion: When you receive this packet you may wish to staple it and study it for a few days. If any teaching seems especially vital, magnetize a reduced photocopy onto your fridge door. After you feel you have dealt with these teachings as much as seems appropriate, de-staple them and insert them into your Meta-Siddur. Then, read a few pages before and after each teaching until you understand why the teaching is placed in this spot. Page 40.2 This is another effort to develop the "Presence" modality of davvenen work, begun in the last Meta-Subscription packet (40.1). Page 48.0001 Again, this page is an effort to develop an earlier page, (48 and 48.001). I have found the exercise of completing sentences in writing helpful. The intention is to get to know some of your personal, inner imagery better. I have always wondered when the day would come when I had a decimal oh-oh-oh page. Page 148.05 Maybe twenty years down the road, people will wish each other a relational 'Shabbat, a multi-dimensional Shabbat. Page 148.91 Ah-h-h the hieroglyphic shapes of the Hebrew letters are such good screens on which to project meanings. Page 158.7-8 Don't ask me what the words in the upper left corner mean. I received this teaching as a flyer that a friend picked up in Central Park in New York at a Tibetan festival. The teaching has been important to me, so much so that I shortened it on the second page. Do you agree that this is a helpful summation of psycho-spiritual teachings? Page 182.3 The right hand English on the top of the page is singable. The bottom right English is davvenable. Reb Zalman , '"l, mapped out a community davvenen service study-sequence during the last visit to Berkeley: First let a community become proficient in the Shabbat morning service; then, the Friday evening service; then Shabbat afternoon service; then begin to work on the festivals. To aid in this project, I offer these prayers from the Amidah of Passover, Sukkot and Shavuot. Page 182.3 And one for Pesakh! And in time, for a change!! I wonder if anyone out there might come up with a Hebrew version of this that is singable. (Just kidding.) If you can, please show your Meta-Subscription and Meta-Parshah around to those who might be interested! Zai Gezunt! Shana Tova!!! ?{?RabbiDavid Wolfe-Blank 20~bia Av., Kens~CA NOTES I am in production of a reduced, more tightly flowing version of the Meta-Siddur which will be published, please God, dming this next year. The Meta-Subscliption will continue, though I may not continue to sell the Meta-Siddur. It may soon be time for a Meta-Siddur 2. Because of the heavy demand on my time that the Meta-Parshiot has taken, I have slowed down my production of the Meta-Subscription. (Some Meta-Subscribers have actually asked me to send packets a little more infrequently as they felt I was sending too much, too quickly. They will be happy with this new arrangement.) I have adjusted my dates to make sure that I don't send renewal notices to anyone who has not received ten packets. Actually, I haven't sent out renewal notices in quite a long time. If you get a renewal notice and you feel you haven't yet received ten packets, let me know. Meta-Subscribers who have misplaced pages, or are unsure if they have every packet, or just want to see how the latest (4.6) Meta-Siddurs look, and so on may send me $20 for a completely up-to-date insert up to version 4.6 (all the pages, about 375 [ !!!] or so) for your binder. You can then recycle your old pages. Meta-Subscribers only, please.
